Five Things To Consider When Planning Your Cooperstown Elopement

Location

There is something about the Cooperstown area that draws you in upon the first visit: The small-town charm, the obsession with baseball, the crystal-clear lake. But, finding the best place to exchange your vows among all the beautiful scenery -- that can get tricky. Permissions, permits, and, what if it rains? I am a Cooperstownian. If you have an ideal location in mind for your elopement, I probably know someone who knows someone, and we can find out if it is possible. :) And if you don’t have a preferred spot in mind -- well, that’s where the fun begins! I can help!

Hair and Makeup

It might be just the two of you, but this is still such a special time. Consider taking the time to pamper yourself -- whether it is having your hair and makeup done, or a professional shave, or even a massage, this is a time to focus on you.

Photographer

DO NOT eliminate a photographer from your budget. Those photos are what you will have to look back on, and you, and your family, will so appreciate having those beautiful images. There are many wonderful photographers in the area, and I am happy to help identify someone that is a fit for the two of you.

Officiant

If you are traveling from outside the Cooperstown area, it may be difficult to identify an officiant for your ceremony. I have a number of wonderful people you can consider to lead you in exchanging your vows.

How to Celebrate

A lot goes into this point for me. Some couples will remember to schedule the photographer, the vow exchange, bring the rings, etc. but then what happens after you say your I dos? You head back to the hotel and order room service? No, no, we can do better than that. Depending on your location, we may want to organize private transportation, a special meal at a private location. Let’s brainstorm, and I can help provide an afternoon or evening where you can focus on yourselves, and not all the nitty-gritty details.
